Reunion

Reunion

I really hate coming up with titles for these things. Anyway, I went to my five-year high school reunion yesterday. Sadly, only seven others from my year showed up–this is slightly less pathetic knowing my class had thirty-nineĀ kids total. …Still kind of pathetic, though. šŸ™ That said, there were only maybe thirty people there total anyway. The school was established the year before I was born; there are less than 700 alumni at all. It’s a teeny tiny school. It…

Zines

Zines

I got into a fourth zine. :O This is exciting, but also kind of stressful. Fortunately the due dates for this one don’t overlap so much with the other three… I was actually rejected from this one initially, but I must have just barely not made the cut, because when someone dropped out they contacted me. Like most of the zines I’m in, the word count they’re looking for is pretty low, at least. They want 1-1.2k words, which is…

Well, I thought I had carpal tunnel syndrome. I wrote a whole blog post about it, in fact; it’s probably just as well it stayed in my drafts, because I do not, in fact, have carpal tunnel syndrome. I do apparently have cubital tunnel syndrome, though, so I wasn’t far off. It affects the part of the hand that carpal tunnel doesn’t–same problem, different nerve. Apparently the problem here isn’t in the wrist though, it’s in the elbow (it’s the…

Grad School!!

Grad School!!

I’m still super excited about this. I’ll probably be taking classes in this or that for the rest of my life; I love learning new things. I’m still so happy I got in. That said, it’s probably not too surprising I did; class registration was the other day, and the required introductory class is capped at 19 with 9 spots still remaining. Granted not everyone in the program may have registered yet, and admissionĀ is still open until August, but seniors…

Storytime Blog Hop: Bugs

Storytime Blog Hop: Bugs

“I can grant you what you seek,” the demon tells me, “but you must give me something in return.” Well, duh. But I suppose not every summoner can be expected to have actually done their research. You’d think they would, but I’ve spent enough time in customer service to know people are idiots. (Not that software QA is any better.) “My firstborn,” I offer. Traditional, and I’m not planning on having kids anyway. Ha. The demon grins, and I think…

Been a While!

Been a While!

I may have forgotten I have a blog. Well, exciting news: I’m goin’ to grad school! I’ll be starting the MS program in Game Science and Design at Northeastern University in the fall. So that’s pretty exciting. Very exciting. I amĀ extremely excited. Otherwise… well, I finished a big project this month. It was fanfiction but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s over 127k words long, and therefore the longest thing I’ve ever written (the two other novels I remember…

Hey

Hey

It’s been a rough couple weeks. Feel like I oughta write something anyway. Christmas… barely even happened this year. I mean, it happened, we opened presents and everything (I got a lot of socks), but no one was really feeling it. A cousin of mine died about a week beforehand so it just didn’t feel right to make merry. The funeral was the day before Christmas Eve, on my sister’s birthday. On a happier note, I’ve been to see Rogue…

‘Tis the Season

‘Tis the Season

It feels like an eon since I’ve even turned on my laptop. I’m just so much more productive on my teeny tiny iPad… Well, I did get my license. I took the road test December 1st and passed easily enough. Still waiting for the thing to actually arrive in the mail, though. I’m home for good now, too. I spent the summer and fall taking care of my grandmother, but now she’s back in her apartment with plenty of people…

Woops

Woops

How do people title blog posts anyway? So, today I went to the RMV. Which is always fun. I was supposed to take my road test (belatedly… I could have taken it almost six years ago, at this point). And you know what? I was prepared. I was ready. I’ve been driving my grandma down the to Cape and back all summer (not to mention all over the Cape) and, granted, she’s got a Lexus and my brother’s old Acura…

Okay

Okay

The problem with starting a blog is that I don’t feel comfortable blabbing about random junk when I don’t already have a pile of random junk to sit on. You see what I’m saying? So I’m starting off with essentially a placeholder, something totally unimportant. Say, this weird bruise on my thighs. It’s a straight line across the top of my legs and it took me a solid day to figure out what it was from: climbing onto the shed…
